posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the anime adaptation of Motoi Fuyukawa's Toaru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun) manga has begun streaming a promotional video. Toaru Kagaku no Railgun is a spinoff from Kazuma Kamachi's Toaru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index) light novels that are set in Academy City, a city where about 80% of its 230,000 citizens are students. The spinoff deals with the adventures of Mikoto Misaka, one of the Level 5 psychics in the original light novels. Tatsuyuki Nagai (IDOLM@STER: XENOGLOSSIA, Toradora!) is directing the animators at J.C. Staff. Seishi Minakami (Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue) is overseeing the scripts, and Yūichi Tanaka (Toaru Majutsu no Index, Last Exile) is adapting the character designs of the light novel illustrator Kiyotaka Haimura. Rina Satō leads the voic cast as Mikoto. The musical acts fripSide and ELISA perforom the opening theme "only my railgun" and the ending theme "Dear My Friend -Mada Minu Mirai he-," respectively.
The same Toaru Kagaku no Railgun promotional video was screened during this past weekend's Comic Market event in Tokyo. The original Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels have already been made into an anime last October.
