JAM Project's Anime Songs Now on Sale in U.S. iTunes
posted on by Egan Loo
JAM Project, the supergroup of popular musical artists from dozens of anime projects, has begun offering songs on the American version of the online Apple iTunes Store on Tuesday. The current 11-song lineup comes from New Getter Robo, Robonimal Panda-Z: The Robonimation, éX-Driver, and the Super Robot Wars game franchise. While most of the songs are in Japanese, the group is also offering the English versions of "No Border" and "Hero." The songs are available as iPhone ringtones as well.
JAM Project's five current members are Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endou, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui, and Yoshiki Fukuyama. Rica Matsumoto and others have performed as part of JAM Project in the past. The group travelled to Baltimore to perform at Otakon last year.
JAM Project's foray onto the U.S. iTunes Store is the start of a larger North American initiative by Lantis, the music label subsidiary of the Bandai NAMCO Group company Bandai Visual. Bandai Visual and Lantis plan to offer more songs on September 9. The two companies had previously announced that they will offer songs every two to three weeks from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, and other anime. The artist lineup will include Aya Hirano and Ali Project.
