Helmer Satoshi Kon, JAM Project's Kageyama Interviewed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Journalist Andrez Bergen posted an excerpt from his full-length interview with director Satoshi Kon (Paprika, Millennium Actress) in the UK entertainment magazine Impact on the Animation Insider community.

In the excerpt, Kon discussed his upcoming movie The Dreaming Machine (Yume-Miru Kikai). Kon explained that the story for The Dreaming Machine is different from his previous work because it is of his own creation. Kon added that there were no humans in The Dreaming Machine because he wants "the audience to enjoy the adventures of robots who survived even after their parents — human beings — had become extinct." Kon added that the film will be released in 2011.

The Otaku2 website posted an interview with JAM Project frontman Hironobu Kageyama. Kageyama has performed songs for the Japanese Transformers franchise, Sonic X, Saint Seiya, and Shin Getter Robo. He has performed about four dozen songs for Dragon Ball Z alone.

In the interview, Kageyama discussed his favorite childhood anime, what manga he likes, his shift from rock to anime music, his opinions on otaku fans, his experiences touring in countries all over the world, and his future dreams and goals.
