posted on by Gia Manry
Comedy/action anime to launch on April 14 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time

Funimation has confirmed the reports from licensing news site LicenseMag and Viz Media's official Shonen Jump Twitter account stating that Funimation has partnered with Toei Animation to stream the television anime adaptation of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko manga. The comedy/action anime series is reportedly set to begin streaming on April 14 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump announced the television anime adaptation this past December, and the series premiered on April 3 in Japan. In the story, the title character Toriko is a "Bishokuya" (gourmet food provider) who travels the world to hunt down the animals and plants needed for the finest cuisine dishes.

A 3D animated film based on the series opened as part of a double-feature with the One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase anime film on March 19.
