Higurashi, Persona, Bunny Drop, Smuggler Promos Streamed (Updated)

On Friday, the Saishin Anime Jōhō website began streaming a 68-second promotional video for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira, a new original video anime series that celebrates the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni horror franchise's 10th anniversary next year. The four Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes will ship between this July and next January.
The Mayonaka TV teaser website for the Persona 4 The Animation project began streaming a new promotional video on Friday. Director Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!, My Bride is a Mermaid) and the anime studio AIC ASTA are adapting the Persona 4 role-playing game from Atlus into a television series. Persona concept designer Kazuma Kaneko, original character designer Shigenori Soejima, musical composer Shoji Meguro, and the main cast of Daisuke Namikawa (Yu Narukami), Showtaro Morikubo (Yōsuke Hanamura), Yui Horie (Chie Satōnaka), and Ami Koshimizu (Yukiko Amagi) are reprising their respective roles from the game for the anime.
The official website for Sabu's live-action film adaptation of Yumi Unita's Bunny Drop (Usagi Drop) manga is now streaming a full trailer. In the manga, 30-year-old bachelor Daikichi (Death Note and Gantz's Ken'ichi Matsuyama) comes home from his grandfather's funeral to discover a little girl named Rin (Mana Ashida) in his garden. Rin is the 6-year-old illegitimate daughter of Daikichi's grandfather, and Daikichi decides to take her in when no one in the family accepts the responsibility. The film will open in Japan on August 20.
The official website for Katsuhito Ishii's live-action film adaptation of Shohei Manabe's Smuggler manga is streaming a teaser trailer. (In the linked page, select the box, and then select the "特報" option in the bottom menu.) The story centers around Ryōsuke Kinuta (Satoshi Tsumabuki), a failed actor with serious debt problems. His loan shark arranges a job for him as part of a corpse disposal team, transporting the bodies of victims of gang hits out of the city and seeing to it that they are never seen again. However, with the team accepting work from both sides in an escalating mob war, life for Kinuta and his colleagues gets increasingly dangerous. The film will open in Japan on October 22.
