Manga Sunday, Comic Cawaii Magazines End Publication

Publisher Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, Ltd. announced that the last issue of itsManga Sunday magazine will ship on February 19. It will be the magazine's 2,795 issue since it premiered in 1959. The magazine was published weekly until June 2012, when it was changed to a twice a month schedule.
The magazine ran popular series like Tatsuo Nitta's Shizukanaru Don - Yakuza Side Story, which was adapted into an OAV in 1991. That series ended last month after a 24-year run in Manga Sunday. The 108th and final volume of the series will ship before summer.
More recently, the magazine ran the Kankin Tantei manga by Level-5 staff member Takemaru Abiko and Yasumasa Nishizaki. The series is getting a live-action film adaptation early this summer. Most of series running in Manga Sunday will wrap up in its last issue. Unfinished works may continue on the Internet.
Manga Sunday has carried Shigeru Tsuchiyama's gourmet manga Gokudō Meshi, Bakuto Watanabe's Engo Buchō Uramasa, Shūichi Sakabe's Synchro, Tadashi Matsumori and Caribu Marley's Yukemuri Sniper PART Ⅲ, Masakazu Yamaguchi's Queen's Hall, Kei Honjō and Yuichiro Sueda's Sōta no Hōchō, Higashimoto's HONA, Mataashita!, Jiro Otani's Kichijōji ★Paradise, Yoneko Takamoto and Renoir Kyoudai's Wo no Koron, Tatsuki Nohda's Club Eigyō Man no Yūutsu, Naotsugu Matsueda's Shiba no Yoru, Sakura Iwamichi's Hon'nori Neko Aji, and Nao Kurebayashi and Shiro Kanō's Kanade no Sora manga series.
It also runs the Dare ni mo Ienai... series of manga shorts by Katsupiro and Sachi Arai, Katsuhiro, Rin Iijima, Pūsuke Kumada, and Norio Kambara.
Publisher Shufunotomo Co., Ltd. also announced the suspension of its Comic Cawaii web manga magazine on Tuesday. The magazine launched in 2010 as a free-to-read anthology. The future of its current series was not immediately revealed.
The magazine carried Sakura Mochizuki's Hyakunin'isshu de Sō Senkyo Yatte Mita ~ Koiuta ni Koishite., Torimo Matsumoto's Kare Katsu ~ 12 Seiza-betsu ★ Otoko no Toriatsukaisetsumeisho ~ and Bar:Mangalica, and Rei Haruno's Toshishita Killer ☆ Ochinutomo, Semezu ni Matō Toshishita Otoko manga series.
