The North American publisher Yen Press announced on Friday that it will release the next chapter of Daisuke Satō and Shoji Sato's Highschool of the Dead manga digitally on the same day that the chapter is released in Japan. Yen Press confirmed with ANN that the publisher has plans only to release the manga's next chapter digitally and simultaneously for now, but that Yen Press will discuss whether to release future chapters after the manga's publishing schedule in Japan is finalized. Additionally, Yen Press said that fan support of the digital simultaneous release would "definitely help future simultaneous serializations happen."
The wraparound jacket band on the fifth and sixth full-color volumes of the manga had revealed in February that the manga was resuming. The 30th chapter will ship in Japan with the May issue of Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Age magazine on April 9. The manga has been on hiatus since March 2011.
Yen Press had previously announced that it would be releasing volumes 5-7 of the manga in its color omnibus edition. The publisher released the first omnibus color edition (pictured at right) in 2011, and the second omnibus book containing volumes 5-7 will ship in July. The publisher has already released the first seven volumes in a regular edition.
Yen Press also confirmed with ANN that it will release the Shiro Amano: The Artwork of Kingdom Hearts artbook. Yen Press will release the artbook on October 29 for US$25.00. The publisher had announced last weekend at Sakura-Con that it would be releasing all four manga adaptations of Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts role-playing game franchise. Yen Press will release the first omnibus volume in the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix manga next month, and the first volumes of the other three manga will ship later this year.
