Pages by Arakawa Under the Bridge's Nakamura available for use not only on blogs, but also print media

The editors of Kodansha's Morning magazine announced on Tuesday that the manuscript for part of the first chapter of Hikaru Nakamura's Saint Young Men manga will be offered for free via the Creative Common license.

The four pages from Chapter 1 “Buddha's Day Off” is being offered under the CC BY-ND 2.1 JP CC license. Under this license, any user can freely transmit the images as long as they give credit to the author and not alter the images. It is not only possible to use on personal blogs or websites, but also in newspapers and magazines. However, the license only applies to these four pages, and other pages of the manga are not under this license.

Morning magazine is offering the pages on their website in downloadable JPEG and TIFF format.

The film adaptation of Nakamura's comedy manga will open in Japanese theaters on May 10. The original manga has sold over 9.5 million copies.
