New Jersey's AnimeNEXT to Host Fujiko Mine Director

Also hosting longtime animator Hiroshi Shimizu, Baby, the Stars Shine Bright

The organizers of AnimeNEXT announced on Wednesday that director Sayo Yamamoto will appear as a guest of honor at this year's convention.

Sayo Yamamoto directed the latest addition to the Lupin III franchise, Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. She also directed Michiko and Hatchin and worked as an episode director on Samurai Champloo, Texhnolyze, Eureka Seven, and Ergo Proxy.

AnimeNEXT will also host Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine animator Hiroshi Shimizu. Shimizu has worked as an animator since 1985 and worked on the Studio Ghibli films Porco Rosso and Princess Mononoke. His other projects include Millennium Actress, Blue Exorcist, FLCL, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and more.

AnimeNEXT will run from June 7 to June 9 at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey. AnimeNEXT will also host Baby, The Stars Shine Bright founder Akinori Isobe, Baby, The Stars Shine Bright designers Masumi Kano and Saki Tachibana, designer MINT NeKO, former Konami Digital Entertainment 3D CG artist Hiro Usuda, Harmony Gold's creative director Tommy Yune, and Japanese band Moon Stream.
