Samurai Executioner/Crying Freeman manga creator at this month's convention
Dark Horse Comics announced at its Anime Expo panel on Saturday that manga creator Kazuo Koike will appear at San Diego's Comic-Con International as a guest this month. Koike co-created several popular manga titles that have been licensed in North America, including Lone Wolf and Cub, Samurai Executioner, and Crying Freeman. He also established Gekikia Sonjuka, a college course that teaches manga.
Koike was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2004. Comic-Con International will run from July 18 to July 21 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Dark Horse Comics has published Koike's Lone Wolf and Cub, Samurai Executioner, and other titles, and Viz and Dark Horse Comics both published Crying Freeman.
