5th OVA volume to ship with 54th manga volume on November 15

The official website for Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine began streaming the first promotional video for the fifth KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple original video anime (OVA) volume on Tuesday. The 54th manga volume will include two new episodes (episodes 6-7) on an original anime DVD. The 10-minute video previews the episode "Russia kara Kita Senshi" (The Warrior Who Came From Russia) and the episode "Kobushi ni Kometa Shinnen" (Conviction Backed With Fists).

Hiroshi Ishiodori is once again directing the project at Brains Base, and Eizō Kobayashi wrote the scripts. The cast members are also reprising their roles, led by Tomokazu Seki as Kenichi Shirahama and Rie Kugimiya as Miu Furinji.

Four original video anime volumes were previously bundled with manga volumes since last year. The fourth original video anime volume, which also had two episodes (episodes 4-5), shipped with the 53rd manga volume on September 18. The manga already inspired a television anime series that Funimation released in North America.

The 54th manga volume will ship on November 15.
