'Detective/Meitantei Pikachu' Trademark Filed in Japan

Nintendo filed a trademark for "Meitantei Pikachu" (Detective Pikachu) on October 11 for a variety of services including video games. The trademark was filed with the Japan Patent Office (2013-79884) and made public on Thursday.
NHK's Professional Shigoto no Ryūgi (Professional Work Style) program featuring Pokémon producer and CEO of The Pokémon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed on Monday that a "top secret" Pikachu game stars the mascot as a detective. The game will feature Pikachu talking for the first time in the game franchise and is expected to be complete in two years.
