Otakon Vegas to Host Kenshin's Nobuhiro Watsuki, Novelist Kaworu Kurosaki

Rurouni Kenshin creator and wife will attend Vegas event in January

The organizers of Otakon Vegas announced on Thursday that Rurouni Kenshin manga creator Nobuhiro Watsuki and novelist Kaworu Kurosaki will attend the inaugural event. Kurosaki last appeared at Otakon this year to curate an exhibit of her husband's original Rurouni Kenshin artwork.

Watsuki began serializing Rurouni Kenshin in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1994. The series was adapted into a 95-episode anime series, an anime film, and three original anime videos. Watsuki launched the Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration manga reboot last year to coincide with the live-action film adaptations. Viz Media published the original manga and is currently releasing Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration in North America. Sentai Filmworks released the Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc OAV in March.

Kaoru Kurosaki, a novelist, has occasionally collaborated with her husband on works such as Buso Renkin and Embalming. She's also written novel adaptations of his works.

Otakon Vegas will also host voice actor Richard Epcar, actor Jason David Frank, voice actresses Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Ellyn Stern, and author and translator Frederik L. Schodt.

Otakon Vegas will be held from January 3-5 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
