GJ Club's New Anime Is a Special Airing in Spring
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The website of Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint updated with information on the GJ Club@ sequel anime on Wednesday. The new anime will be a television special titled GJ Club@ (pronounced "GJ-bu Guruguru") that will air next spring.
The story is set during the spring vacation immediately after Mao and the others graduate. As the season turns and sakura flowers bloom, Kyōya is once again suddenly stuffed into a bag. When he is let out of the bag, Kyoya looks around and sees New York — except the room looks exactly like the GJ Club@'s room.
The official NTV site had teased that the series will feature the GJ Club@ members' trip to New York. The wraparound jacket band on the seventh volume of the original manga and the GJ Club@ Fanbook emphasize that the sequel will "reassemble the staff from television version": director Yoshiyuki Fujiwara, scriptwriter Hideaki Koyasu, and character designer Miwa Ōshima.
