Discotek Issues Statement on Blue Submarine No. 6 Dub

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

North American licensor Discotek Media issued a statement on The Fandom Post forums, regarding the use of the Toonami version of the English dub for its Blue Submarine No. 6 Blu-ray release. Discotek explained that it used the video masters for Bandai Visual's Blue Fleet box set in Japan, and that release used the Toonami version of the dub, with some dialogue changes to conform to Cartoon Network's standards and practices.

According to Discotek, the company was unaware that two different versions of the complete English dub existed for the original anime video series. The company plans to release a single disc DVD with the original Bandai Entertainment dub and Japanese audio with subtitles next year for those who want the original dub.
