Tetsuya Tsutsui's Prophecy Manga Gets Film Adaptation, Spinoff

The cover page for Tetsuya Tsutsui's new series Yūgai Toshi, which will begin in the May issue of Shueisha's Jump X [Kai] magazine on Thursday, includes an announcement that Tsutsui's previous series Prophecy (Yokokuhan) will get a film adaptation.

The manga revolves around the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Cyber ​​Crime Division in there pursuit of a criminal arsonist. One day, a man with a newspaper mask publishes a video online of a food processing factory set ablaze. The division labels the arsonist "Newspaper Man" and tries to discover the motives behind his crimes.

The series launched in Jump X magazine from in 2011 and ended last August. The third volume was released in Japan on September 10. Vertical, Inc. licensed the series for North America.

The same issue of Jump X will also include the first chapter of a spin-off series called Yokokuhan: The Copycat. Fumio Obata will draw the series and Tsutsui is credited as the original creator.
