Uppers PlayStation Vita Brawler Game Delayed

Producer cites low pre-order numbers

Game developer Marvelous announced on Tuesday that it will change the release date and price for its upcoming PlayStation Vita brawwler action game Uppers. The game was slated for release on April 21 in Japan for 6,980 yen (about US$60). Marvelous has not announced the new release date and price.

The company cited "various reasons," but game producer Kenichiro Taka (Senran Kagura) elaborated on the Marvelous blog that one of the reasons is that preorder numbers are less than expected.

The company offered an apology to customers and any other concerned parties.

Those who purchase the first copies of the game will receive a special "Men's Knuckle Uppers" booklet, a two-disc soundtrack, and a download code for a queen swimsuit outfit. Different retailers will offer different Senran Kagura print t-shirts as DLC costumes for female characters.

The game will be set on an isolated island where brawling is the greatest form of entertainment. The game's characters all feature men who have their own hidden motives for arriving at the island, and seek to achieve them through fighting. KNOCK OUT MONKEY performs the game's theme song "Oh, No."
