Devils and Realist Stage Musical Cast Unveiled in Costume

Musical will run June 1-5 in Tokyo

The official website for the the stage musical of Madoka Takadono and Utako Yukihiro's supernatural manga Devils and Realist (Makai Ōji: Devils and Realist) posted visuals of the cast in costume on Wednesday. The cast includes:

Mashū Ishiwatari as William

Taiyō Ayukawa as Dantalion

Kōhei Norizuki as Kevin

Seiya Konishi as Isaac Morton

Yūichi Matsumoto as Crosby

Takuya Kawaharada as Sytry

Masato Saki as Gilles de Rais

Kousuke Yonehara as Camio

The play will run from June 1 to 5 at the Zenrōsai Hall Space Zero in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi (Emukichi-Beat) is directing the musical, and Naohiro Ise is writing the script. CLIE is producing the play. The Stradford School Drama Troupe is performing the musical.

The story revolves around William, an aristocratic family's progeny with rare intellect. One day, his uncle lost his possessions after his business failed. Fearing that his family's name has been tarnished, William returns home and searches with his family's butler for anything that can be converted into cash.

A search of the premises yields an underground room left by an ancestor. In the room is a magical seal, and William unintentionally summons a devil. The summoned devil tells William his name is Dantalion, and reveals that William is the "Elector" who can choose the next acting ruler of Hell.

Artist Yukihiro (Uta no Prince Sama) and novelist Takadono (Hakushakuke Goyōtashi) launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero Sum magazine in 2009. Ichijinsha published the 11th volume on July 25, and will publish the 12th volume on January 25. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, and published the sixth volume in North America on August 4.

Chiaki Kon (Junjō Romantica, When They Cry - Higurashi, La storia della Arcana Famiglia) directed a 12-episode television anime adaptation of the manga at Doga Kobo which premiered in July 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for home video in North America. Sentai Filmworks released the series on DVD and Blu-ray on March 17.
