Hiroko Moriguchi to Perform Theme Song for Gundam: The Origin IV

Anime's 4th episode to debut this fall

The staff of the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin anime announced during the "Gundam Live Expo ~Zeon no Seiki~" event on Sunday that Hiroko Moriguchi will be the theme song artist for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin IV: Unmei no Zenya (Fateful Eve), the anime's fourth episode.

Moriguchi previously performed theme songs for Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and One-Punch Man, among others.

The screenings of the anime's third episode, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin III: Dawn of Rebellion (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin III Akatsuki no Hōki), ended with a teaser that confirms that the current Char/Sayla arc of the anime will end with the fourth episode this fall. According to the teaser, the fourth episode will feature Char's "fateful encounter" with the girl Lalah sune, the first Gundam anime's protagonist Amuro Ray, and "the legendary Dr. Minovsky" (whose physics breakthroughs eventually led to mobile suit warfare). The episode will also cover the development of the MS-04 and the RX-78 Gundam mobile suits, as well as the first ever mobile suit battle in history.

The screenings also ended with announcement that production has been green-lit for the Loum Arc that will cover the Battle of Loum. The Loum Arc's teaser trailer ran after the announcement.

The third episode began screening in 15 theaters in Japan for two weeks on May 21. The original video anime's first episode, titled "Blue-Eyed Casval," premiered in a limited engagement in Japanese theaters in February 2015. The second episode, "Artesia's Sorrow," opened in Japan last October.

Anime Consortium Japan is releasing the series digitally worldwide through a premium rental streaming program, and Right Stuf — in collaboration with Sunrise — is releasing the series on home video.

The anime project adapts Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's manga of the same name, which in turn is inspired by the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime's story.
