Anime premiered on January 9 with Crunchyroll stream

The official Youtube channel of North Pictures' Comic Zenon magazine began streaming a video for the television anime adaptation of Shinya Umemura and Eiji Hashimoto's Chiruran Nibun no Ichi (Chiruran 1/2) comedy spinoff manga on Tuesday. The video reveals that the anime's DVD will contain an unaired episode. The DVD will ship on May 26.

The anime premiered on January 9. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

The original manga is a "laid-back" spinoff of Shinya Umemura and Hashimoto's Chiruran: Shinsengumi Chinkon-ka (Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem) manga. The spinoff manga runs in the same Comic Zenon magazine as the main series, but instead follows the everyday lives of the members of the Shinsengumi, who are depicted in SD form. Umemura and Hashimoto launched the spinoff in May.

Fumie Moroi is directing the anime at LandQ Studios. Mutsuaki Murata (Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection, Love Live! School idol project key animation) is designing the characters. Mieko Ichihara (Chibi Maruko-chan, Maken-Ki! Battling Venus) is the art director, while Tomomi Murakami (The [email protected] Cinderella Girls, Spice and Wolf II) is in charge of color design. Toshitaka Kanda (Paprika, MAOYU) is director of photography. Kashiko Kimura (Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie, Paranoia Agent) is in charge of editing.
