The King of Fighters: Destiny Chinese CG Series' 6th Episode Streamed

Episodes available on YouTube, Steam

SNK's official YouTube channel began streaming the sixth episode of The King of Fighters: Destiny, the animated adaptation of The King of Fighters fighting game franchise, last Thursday. The episode has Japanese audio and English subtitles.

The episode begins with Kyo Kusanagi informing his father that he senses the presence of Orochi in South Town. The dangerous power of Orochi has been sealed and protected by the Kusanagi and two other families since ancient times. The episode then returns to Yuri, who meets the bartender King and helps the shinobi Mai Shiranui fend off thugs in London. The three decide to enter the King of Fighters tournament, forming the classic Women Fighters Team (though named the Queen Team here).

The series will have 24 episodes (initially listed with 20), and will be voiced by both Chinese and Japanese voice actors. A team that worked on the special effects of the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV film are working on the series. The first episode debuted on Steam on August 4 and new episodes are streaming weekly.

When SNK announced the animated adaptation last year, it also announced a live-action adaptation. The animated series was first slated for the first quarter of 2016.

37Games acquired the majority stake in Japanese game developer SNK Playmore in 2015.

The franchise previously inspired a four-episode original net animation from Production I.G titled The King of Fighters: Another Day in 2005 and 2006.

SNK released The King of Fighters XIV, the latest installment in the franchise, for PlayStation 4 in August 2016. SNK then released the game for PC via Steam in June.
