New Captain Tsubasa Anime Adds 6 More Cast Members

This year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed six more cast members on Monday for the upcoming new Captain Tsubasa anime.
The new cast members include:
- Megumi Han as Takeshi Sawada
- Yuichiro Umehara as Ken Wakashimazu
- Ayako Takeuchi as Masao Tachibana
- Yurina Watanabe as Kazuo Tachibana
- Sōma Saitō as Jun Misugi
- Wataru Hatano as Hikaru Matsuyama
Previously revealed cast members include:
Kenichi Suzumura as Genzō Wakabayashi, a genius goalkeeper
Ayaka Fukuhara as Tarō Misaki, the "golden partner"
Mutsumi Tamura as Ryō Ishisaki, known for his face block
Takuya Satō as Kojirō Hyūga, a key rival
Katsuyuki Konishi as Roberto Hongō, the legendary No. 10 on Brazil's team

Mutsuki Iwanaka as Mamoru Izawa, one of the "Shutetsu Quartetto" and a player known for his jumping ability
Kōdai Sakai as Teppei Kisugi, one of the "Shutetsu Quartetto" and a player known for his ability to find a way to a goal
Hiroyuki Yoshino as Hajime Taki, one of the "Shutetsu Quartetto" and the "Assist King" known for his agile footwork
Tarō Kiuchi as Shingo Takasugi, one of the "Shutetsu Quartetto" and a giant player known for his power plays
The new anime will premiere on TV Tokyo on April 2 at 1:35 a.m. (effectively April 3 morning), and on BS Japan on April 9 at 12:30 a.m. (effectively April 10 morning). The anime will also air on TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu.
Viz Media has licensed the anime. The license includes digital streaming, electronic sell-through (EST), home video, and merchandise rights for North America and Latin America.
Toshiyuki Kato (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable, Full Moon o Sagashite) is directing the anime at the studio David Production. Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inazuma Eleven, Pokémon XY) is in charge of the series scripts, and Hajime Watanabe (Ginga e Kickoff!!, School Rumble) is serving as character designer and chief animation director. Hayato Matsuo (Hellsing Ultimate, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, The World God Only Knows) is composing the music, and Yoshikazu Iwanami is directing the sound. Johnny's West idol group is performing the anime's opening theme song "Start Dash!"
The anime will retell the story of Yōichi Takahashi's 1981-1988 Captain Tsubasa manga from the beginning. The original soccer manga revolves around 11-year old Tsubasa Ōzora, a boy who loves soccer and is recognized by his coach Roberto due to his skill of the sport. Tsubasa goes with his coach to Brazil in order to train for the World Cup.
