Crunchyroll Streams Persona 5: Dark Sun Anime Special

Crunchyroll began streaming the PERSONA 5 the Animation: Dark Sun anime special on Sunday. The 51-minute special aired on December 30 at 24:00 (effectively December 31 at 12:00 a.m.) on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11.

The end of the special revealed that a second special, titled PERSONA 5 the Animation: Stars and Ours, will air in March. The special is listed as the second half of the two specials. The anime's 11th home video release in Japan, which will ship on May 29, will include both PERSONA 5 the Animation: Dark Sun and an unaired episode.

The 26-episode PERSONA 5 the Animation television series premiered on April 7 and aired through September. Aniplex of America streamed the series on Crunchyroll and Hulu as it aired.

Masashi Ishihama (From the New World, Kamichu!) directed PERSONA 5 the Animation, and the game franchise's producer Katsura Hashino is credited with the original story concept. Satomi Ishikawa (Convenience Store Boy Friends) adapted Shigenori Soejima's original game character designs for animation. Kazuma Kaneko is credited for having drawn the original demon designs from the game. Shinichi Inotsume (Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, Hayate the Combat Butler, Sket Dance) was in charge of the series scripts. Shoji Meguro returned from the game to compose the anime's music. Lyn performed both opening theme songs and both ending theme songs.
