New arc features Rei Isurugi character, "four generals of the underworld," BUCK-TICK ending song

The official website for the new GeGeGe no Kitarō anime revealed on Thursday that the anime will head into its "second year" in the show's 50th overall episode on April 7. That episode will also debut the anime's new ending song "RONDO" by BUCK-TICK. The site revealed a new visual for the anime.

The site also revealed a new character named Rei Isurugi, who appears as a mysterious, ostensibly human high school boy chasing after Kitarō in the upcoming new arc. The arc will also introduce a new plotline involving the "four generals of the underworld."

Kouji Ogawa is serving as series director while Hiroshi Ohnogi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) is handling series composition. Sorato Shimizu is the character designer and chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail) and -yaiba- (Naruto Shippūden) are composing the music. Fuji TV, Yomiuri Advertising, and Toei Animation are producing.

The anime premiered last April and replaced Dragon Ball Super in the same timeslot. The anime will run for 50+ episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
