Gakkō dewa Oshiete Kurenai Taisetsu na Koto Anime's 2nd Story Starts on September 6

The staff for the television anime of the Gakkō dewa Oshiete Kurenai Taisetsu na Koto (Important Things They Don't Teach You at School) children's guidebook series announced on Monday the anime's second story titled "Jikan no Tsukai-kata" (How to Use Your Time), which will debut on September 6 at 7:00 a.m. (September 5 at 6:00 p.m. EDT) within the Iniminimanimo (a reference to the English counting-out rhyme "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe") program on TV Tokyo. The anime will also stream on the TVer service in Japan. The anime's staff also revealed a teaser promotional video.
The anime's second story centers on the topic of how to use time properly.
The new story's cast (who also voice the characters in the anime's first story) are:
- Makoto Koichi as Kanta Tokiwa, a boy who loses track of time while playing games and reading manga
- Haruka Chisuga as Riko Tokiwa, Kanta's older sister
- Yumiri Hanamori as Kanta's mother
- Fukushi Ochiai as Professor Watch, who teaches Kanta how to use his time properly
- Kōki Ohsuzu as Tama, Kanta's pet cat and gaming buddy
Additional new cast includes Sora Tokui as Kanta's friend Toshio, and Yoshiki Inumaru as Kanta's father.

Kana Nakazawa is directing the anime at IMAGICA Infos (Imageworks Studio) in collaboration with Usagiou. Taeko Miura is directing the sound with Yoko Sakurai on sound effects. Musician kidlit is composing the music. Kazuya Takahashi is overseeing the production. Funuyu is handling the key visuals, and Sachiko Umoto designed the logo. Girl group OCHA NORMA performs the anime's theme song "Gakkō dewa Oshiete Kurenai Koto" (Things They Don't Teach You at School).
The book series aims to teach children practical life lessons on various topics, such as cleanliness, organization, learning strategies, and human relationships. The first book in the series shipped in July 2015, and the 48th and latest book shipped in June 2024. The book series has 4 million copies in circulation.
