Writer Mikoto Yamaguchi (Tomodachi Game) and artist Yūhei Ogino (Dopeman) launched a new manga titled Tensei Kaku Gamer Oji demo Kateru Isekai Kōryaku (Reincarnated Fighting Gamer) on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website on August 22. The story centers on Kairu Mitsushima, a middle-aged man who has been good at playing fighting games since he was in middle school. 30 years ago, he had a life-changing moment when he met Daigo Umehara, a living legend in the fighting game world. After a traffic accident, Kairu gets reincarnated in another world, where people battle it out using their knowledge and skills in fighting games.

Yuki Satō's Tomodachi Game manga, based on Yamaguchi's original concept, launched in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in December 2013. The manga ended in August 2024.

The manga's anime adaptation premiered on NTV in April 2022. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and it also streamed an English dub.

The manga has inspired a live-action series and two live-action films. The first film, Tomodachi Game Gekijōban, opened in June 2017 after the live-action television series premiered in April 2017. The second film screened in Japan in September 2017. The manga inspired a new live-action television show in July 2022.

Ogino and Ryō Yoshigami launched the Dopeman manga on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch website in March 2022. Shinchosha published the manga's third volume in June 2023. Digital publisher Comikey started publishing the manga digitally in English in November 2022. Titan Manga licensed the manga and released the first compiled book volume physically on March 18.
