The set is described as follows:
"Ichigo was hoping for a great first date. What she got was a literal disaster and an origin story! First she's hit with a ray that supplements her DNA with that of an Iriomote Cat (an endangered subspecies of leopard), and then they're attacked by a giant rat monster! With her date down, Ichigo finds herself using her new feline abilities to defeat the monster. Holy catgirl, she's a super heroine! But who gave her these powers and why?"
Takahiro Natori (Aria the Crepuscolo, Cannon Busters) directed the anime at Yumeta Company and Graphinica, and Yuka Yamada (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Bungaku Shōjo, Neo Angelique Abyss) was in charge of the series scripts. Satoshi Ishino (Date A Live, No. 6) designed the characters, and Toshiki Kameyama directed the sound. Team-MAX's Yasuharu Takanashi (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal, Precure franchise, Zombie Land Saga, Fairy Tail) composed the music.
Yoshida and Ikumi serialized their original Tokyo Mew Mew magical girl manga from 2000 to 2003 (with Kodansha credited for the franchise's original concept), and Tokyopop published all seven volumes in English. Kodansha Comics released the manga in three omnibus volumes with a new translation in 2011. The manga previously inspired a 52-episode television anime series from 2002 to 2003.

"They took down Demon General Sylvia - but still don't have their sh*t together. Kazuma pursues monkhood before getting tasked with a royal mystery, the party scrambles to keep divine items out of the wrong hands, and someone swaps bodies with a princess."

"Lawrence and Holo stop in the town of Kumerson to hear old tales of the North from a pagan chronicler. There, the demand for pyrite surges, sweeping the travelers into a high-stakes deal. On the line? Holo's hand in marriage."
