Date Change for Eirtakon 2010
Award-winning event pushed forward to October.

DUBLIN, IRELAND – April 30th, 2010 – Eirtakon 2010 will now take place on the weekend of October 15th – 17th and not the previously announced date of November 12th – 14th. The event has been moved forward a month to allow the Eirtakon committee to gain fuller access to the facilities available at The Helix, the first class event venue that will host Ireland's largest anime convention.

The new date of October, which will virtually guarantee the warmest Eirtakon yet, gives the committee the opportunity to take advantage of the facilities provided by The Helix in a way that was not possible with the November date. It also frees up numerous special guests and events that are lined up for the weekend of October 15th – 17th, further cementing Eirtakon's place as Ireland's original and largest anime event.

“Moving from November to October is a big decision, and not one we took lightly,” said Stephen Fox, Eirtakon's director for 2010. “But it allows us to do so much more with guests, events and traders and hopefully the weather will be warmer too, a welcome break!”

The whole Eirtakon committee is looking forward to bringing a showcase of everything anime and manga related to Ireland this October, from unique traders, big-name guests and workshops on all aspects of Japanese life and culture. Expect several important announcements (including info on how to pre-register!) over the next few weeks as the excitement begins to build once again for Eirtakon!
