The One Piece Podcast Goes to Japan: Kickstarter

NEW YORK, NY - April 30, 2013 - The One Piece Podcast started in 2009 with a vision: to bring the manga and anime series One Piece to a global audience. This August, we plan to take the next step.

The podcast will be heading to Japan to film a video documentary series for The One Piece Podcast starting August 5th. As part of the series we will have live video events, we hope to have video interviews, video tours of Japan, and cultural insights. We will visit One Piece events, exhibitions, One Piece bars, Shueisha, and more.

Our ultimate goal -- to sit down with the editors or creator of One Piece.

We have started a Kickstarter to fund this project at

You will get to see everything we see. We will give you a perspective of Japan only we at The One Piece Podcast can. Here are just some of the events we'll be visiting and reporting on:

Bandai Namco "Weekly Shonen Jump" Theme Park (Ikebukuro, Tokyo)
United States of Odaiba 2013 (Odaiba, Tokyo)
One Piece Grand Arena Tour (Shizuoka Twin Messe, Shizuoka)
One Piece Planetarium (Toshima-ku, Tokyo)
Universal Studios Japan (Osaka, Japan)

We will also have a series of interviews that we will announce as soon as we have confirmation, with the ultimate goal of interviewing the creator, voice actors, editors, and directors of the One Piece manga and the anime. We have a real shot at interviewing these major One Piece figures, but only you can help us reach this goal, and bring this incredible material to you.
