Death Note Killer Within Adds Spokesperson Role and Premium Avatars

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today announced a free update that is available now for DEATH NOTE Killer Within which introduces a new role, the Kira's Spokesperson, for Kira's team. DEATH NOTE Killer Within, the globally popular anime series reimagined as a thrilling 10-player social deduction game,is available on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5 and PC via STEAM® in Standard and Special Editions. This free update introduces a new role for Kira's team, Kira's Spokesperson. This new role is responsible for reducing the number of investigators by secretly planting “Kira's Kingdom Cards” on other players during the Action phase. If a player holding this card is arrested, they will be categorized as Kira's collaborator, and they will not be able to participate in the investigation any further. However, the Kira's Spokesperson must be careful and avoid suspicion, because they risk the same sentence as their targets if they are arrested with the cards in their possessions.

Additionally, new premium downloadable content is now available, featuring a premium Light Yagami (shirt) avatar and the Premium Customization Track Vol. 5. This latest track includes two additional premium avatars—Rem and Naomi Misora—along with two new pets, 19 accessories, two nameplates and ten character cut-ins.

DEATH NOTE Killer Within, the first-ever game based on the globally popular anime series, captures the series' mystical premise, where a notebook's power can bring death to anyone whose name is written in it, reimagining the premise as an online social deduction game where players must determine who they can trust. In the game, players can assume one of five roles - Kira, Kira Follower, L, Investigator, or Mello - each offering unique gameplay characteristics in developing a wide range of strategies, as randomized scenarios evolve into high-stakes gameplay. Their ultimate goal is to uncover each other's identities to eliminate L or seize the Death Note from Kira. The game features cross-play for up to 10 players across platforms and offers robust customization options. Engage in a game of wits as both sides vie for the hidden Death Note, leading to a thrilling showdown of truth and deception until one team prevails.
