"Kanade" Visual Novel by Good Smile Company and Frontwing has been Released

TOKYO - June, 2025 - Tokyo-based Good Smile Company and Frontwing have released the visual novel “KANADE” on Steam. The game is available with Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese text options, retailing at $12.99.

"KANADE" is a visual novel about Yuuto and Kanade, two former pen pals, who experience their first love together in a world that is gradually approaching its demise. Kanade, who goes to meet Yuuto, reveals her biggest secrets: the fact that she's born from the union of a human father and an alien mother, and that she's on a mission to save the world with her song.

The game features Yūko Natsuyoshi as the voice of its titular heroine and the vocalist of several music tracks, including its opening theme, “Hajimari wa Koi” (“It Begins with Love”). The opening video of the game can be viewed via the game's official website and the GOOD SMILE CHANNEL YouTube channel. Sample voice clips of all voiced characters who have already been revealed, including Kanade, are available on the game's official website.

The key creative staff of the game comprises production members from previous titles developed by Frontwing. Yusano, who was also involved in “ATRI: My Dear Moments” and “GINKA,” is responsible for most of the character designs and illustrations for the game. The story is written by Asou Ei, best known as the scenario writer for visual novels such as “euphoria” and “Lilja and Natsuka: Painting Lies.”

STORY

In the near future, a sudden proliferation of plants has left much of human civilization drowning in greenery. Yuuto is a boy living in a city that's now largely reclaimed by nature. One day, a girl named Kanade appears on his doorstep.

The two had been exchanging letters after she found one of his carrier pigeons.

"I have to sing the greatest love song and save the world in my mother's place.”

“So, Yuuto-san... Would you please fall in love with me?"

Warmly watched over by those around them, the two tentatively begin their exploration of love. What neither of them realize is that a spark of affection has already budded between them...

Fall in love, make music, and save the world.

This is the tale of a wondrous future where the encounter between a boy and girl brings a miracle to the world.
