Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Official Prequel Comic Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness Volume 1 to be Released on Aug. 28th with Exclusive Bonuses

Tokyo Japan, KADOKAWA CORPORATION (https://group.kadokawa.co.jp/global/) has announced that Volume 1 of the printed edition of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS, currently serialized on the online manga label Comic Alive +, will be released on August 28th (Thurs.), 2025.

In addition to the serialized chapters, Volume 1 will feature a range of exclusive bonuses including original illustrations and comics and a pilgrimage map highlighting key locations from the story. The printed edition's obi (wraparound book band) will also include complimentary remarks from popular writer Mafia Kajita and Tomoyo Kurosawa, the voice actor for Rebecca. The series is scheduled for translation and release in nine languages worldwide.

The protagonists are Rebecca and Pilar, the wildly popular sibling duo from the anime series, who remain fan favorites even three years after the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners's debut. Alongside them is the mysterious man who lures them into MADNESS. This untold tale, set before the siblings meet David and the others, is an entirely new and original work written by Bartosz Sztybor, who handled the screen story for the anime series and returns as Showrunner, Story Writer, and Producer on the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The artwork is drawn by the manga artist Asano.

The Cyberpunk 2077 video game has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Set in that same universe, the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, created in collaboration between CD PROJEKT RED and animation Studio Trigger, became a global phenomenon, winning Anime of the Year at the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
