ZAQ to Digitally Release 'Liar Veil,' Ending Theme for 'Classroom of the Elite 4th Season: Second Year, First Semester,' on April 2; CD Jacket and Tracklist Revealed
ZAQ's new song “Liar Veil” has been chosen as the ending theme for the anime Classroom of the Elite 4th Season: Second Year, First Semester, which will begin airing in April 2026. This marks ZAQ's fourth collaboration with the Classroom of the Elite series, and the first time she has performed an ending theme for the franchise.
Built on a hip-hop and jazz foundation, “Liar Veil” combines a simple structure with intricate melodic lines. The lyrics are written from the heroine's perspective, further enriching the world of the series. The song will be released digitally on April 2, ahead of the CD release on April 22.
The tracklist and jacket art have also been revealed. Inspired by the title “Liar Veil,” the front cover evokes an eerie yet alluring atmosphere, hinting at truths hidden behind a veil. The back cover features Tsubasa Nanase and Ichika Amasawa, with protagonist Kiyotaka Ayanokoji appearing in the background. What truths lie hidden beneath these veils? The artwork invites fans to reflect on this question while exploring the song's lyrics.

Profile
ZAQ began playing piano at age three and graduated from a university music program with a degree in piano. While studying classical music, she also immersed herself in rock, R&B, hip-hop, and other pop genres, and was struck by the musical sophistication of anime songs.
In 2012, she debuted as a creator by writing, composing, and arranging a character song for the TV anime Future Diary. In October of the same year, she made her major debut with “Sparkling Daydream,” the opening theme for Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!. She has since performed opening themes for series including Trinity Seven, Concrete Revolutio, and Classroom of the Elite.
She also wrote, composed, and co-arranged the theme song for Animelo Summer Live 2017 -THE CARD-, one of Japan's largest anime music events, further establishing herself as both an artist and a creator. In recent years, she has provided songs to numerous artists across label lines. As an arranger, sound producer, and singer-songwriter, ZAQ aims to forge a new “classic” style of anime music in a scene that often trends toward uniformity.
