| Berserk (TV 1997) It was an absolute joy to watch for the most part, the storyline was both compelling and intelligent; filled with political intrigue and quirky plot twists, the characters were charming and complemented each other well, and it struck a perfect balance between fight scenes, and some very moving ones. And then all of a sudden, it all goes so very horribly wrong...
So what exactly was that ending all about? The last two episodes completely deviated away from what made the anime so great in the first place, any emotion that you may of felt towards the characters, or indeed towards the anime itself, was completely destroyed. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but the moment that incident happened, I became incredibly disinterested with the entire thing, and just to make things even worse, a conclusion was never resolved.
Potentially a masterpiece, and yet it was left hideously unfinished, to the extent you have to ask yourself why they even bothered including the last two episodes. Most disappointing. | Masterpiece |
