So, is collecting virtual things as rewarding as actually getting.... things?
The article says that you can actually pay money for these virtual things...

I guess it depends on how into the site you are, and I say this as an ex-member who used to all sorts of pretty pixels(Though I didn't put any actual cash of my own into the system. Hooray for the offer wall and endless surveys and videos).
You have to pay a fair bit for pixels. Esentially 75centsish for a randomly dispensed item from a collab, so you could get something you already have, unless you do a trade with someone.
They have a free coins system (Which they call "chibi coins"), but those appear to be on their way out, and can do nothing towards the collab or G-coin gachas, unless you get a gacha ticket in a CC gacha (Which is pretty rare, and can't be used towards collaboration gachas anyway).
