Tomorrow is Valentines Day and during the last week I saw a lot of couples in my school’s hallway. *sigh* But I wanted to know who is the cutest anime couple and why. I think Sana and Akito from Kodocha is at least in the top ten. Maybe Miroku and Sango from Inu Yasha are in the top five. Hhmmmm… what do yall think?

Honestly, though, why bring this subject into dispute? The answer, quite simply, is anime's longest running, most devoted, loveliest couple; Keiichi Morisato and Belldandy of Oh! My Goddess. There isn't an anime couple out there that has proven more enduring. It's actually quite interesting, because the beauty of K1 and Bell is that they're a functional loving couple. It's rare to see the dysfunction of so many other anime couples creep into an OMG story. If there's any other comparable couple, it has to be Kaoru Hanabishi and Aoi Sakuraba of Ai Yori Aoshi. |

I second Raygal's comments. Both are examples of loving, faithful couples where there's no question about where either character's true feelings and loyalties lie, no matter what distractions may be at hand. Both are also cases of couples where each partner treats the other with gentleness and respect despite the occasional dirty thought - something all-too-commonly lacking in anime romantic comedies. Also, both couples have a special bond which goes beyond just being in love. Keichi and Belldandy have the contract, of course, but they also complement each other so well that other characters are regularly amazed, while Kaoru and Aoi each fulfill each other's deep-seeded emotional needs. And in both cases (especially the latter), they just look right when you see them together.
If there's a better - or cuter - anime couple out there than either of these two then I haven't seen the series. |

Koji Kabuto and Sayaka Yumi from Mazinger series
and Akira Fudo and Miki Makimura from Devilman spoiler[she was one of the main characters that made me upset when she died, espically HOW she died, but thats what made the big impact! When everyone found out that Akira was devilman, and assume she was one of them so everyone went nuts after finding out there were demons in the world and a mob went to her house and chopped her up into pieces!] Ryoma Nagari and Michiru Satome from Getter Robo spoiler[I wish she didn't die, but the way she did wooo wee, 2 of the getter machines crushed her while transforming! both these deaths from Devilman and Getter Robo showed how important they were to the main characters and what a way to do it! but then you will have to watch it to see what I mean hehe] has you can tell I'm a Go Nagai fan hehe  [/spoiler]

Anko+Yoshikawa from GTO... i mean, anko bullied yoshikawa for like all her life, but they still ended up together in the end, definately one of the best couples.
And i second the Sorata+Arashi, soo tragic in the end. |

If you'd asked me five years ago, I would have said Keiichi and Belldandy, but looking at it now they're awfully vanilla. I honestly haven't seen much in anime relationships lately that makes me go "AwwWWWWww", not even Edward Elric and Roy Mustang ...
I'll have to reach over into manga and say Subaru and Akane from Hot Gimmick, because those two are just so many levels of cute. |

Key and Raygal said it so perfectly that I don't have to duplicate my explanation as to my choice.
Firstly, for me, it would have to be Kaoru Hanabishi and Sakuraba Aoi. Simply because they remind me quite a bit of myself. Secondly, K1 and Bell. Theirs too is a perfect relationship, but it just lacks that bit of realism. |

What Van and Hitomi are off the list? Let it never be so! Quite often romantic sidelines in an action series are just that, sidelines from the main story, but in Escaflowne their love is an integral part of the plot, almost the main plot. Their love for each other was so great that it overcame time and space to bring them together, spoiler[and when the fate that brought them together broke them apart they continued to have a deep, selfless affection one for the other. ]

I say Tohru and Kyo from fruits basket. They make a nice couple and you can really tell that Tohru has had an impact on Kyo's life and that Kyo likes Tohru.

My favorite couple would be from his and circumstances yukino and arima! spoiler[I love how there relationship was build out of the fact that they’re both very fake individuals!]. My second favorite couple would have to be keitaro and naru from love hina! I don’t know why I love their relationship but some one had to say it!

It's fascinating to me that so many people are holding up a goddess contractually enslaved to wait hand and foot on a college boy as a functional, even ideal, romantic relationship. Maybe on Gor.

It used to be Sakura and Syaoran from CCS, but more recently it turned into Loki and Mayura from the anime/manga the Mythical Detective Loki. They're really cute together, and the whole god/mortal relationship is appealing.
Since I have bandwidth to waste...
