Takahata's movies are some of Ghibli's very best, and as such are among the best in the entire medium. I'm super stoked that Taketori Monogatari actually seems to be moving along. With this and Miyazaki's mystery project in development, the next few years look to be pretty dang exciting for Ghibli fans.

He is the only living anime director I admire more than Hayao Miyazaki, so I can't wait for his new movie.
