I like Anime where you get to know the characters really well.
Do you recomend any anime that has a lot of character devolepment? |

I hear azumanga daioh has great character devolpment... (it's on the list
 )
others include: Evangelion, Gto, Bebop, Trigun, Tokyo Godfathers, Gankusou, Saikano, Hibane Ramnei (sorry if I killed some spellings.... there's a lot more out there which I'm sure other people will mention. |

Crest of the Stars has some great character developement of the two main people, Lafiel and Jinto, almost to the point of ignoring everyone else. I think there's a conversation between the two at the beginning of the series that takes a full 3 episodes!

.hack//SIGN has tons of character development, right up to the last fifteen minutes of the series. It takes place in an online roleplaying game, with a few glimpses of the players in the real world, and alot of the series involves finding out what kind of people the players behind the roleplaying characters are in real life. With characters of different ages and backgrounds, there's someone for everyone to identify with. Maybe not for everyone (you might not fully appreciate everything that's going on if you've never roleplayed), but as someone who played Dungeons & Dragons back in the 80's, I absolutely loved it.

Assuming that the anime stays close to the manga, Azumanga Daioh really has no character development. At the end of it, every character is exactly the same as when they started, except a few years older. |

That would be a lack of character growth, but not necassarily character development. The two are not the same; character development is how well the personas on screen are "fleshed out;" how much time is given to understanding this person's emotions, motivations, fears, goals, whatnot. |

i would recommand Argentosoma... it's a lot like Evangelion... but this serie focus more on one single character inparticular
I'm one of the few people that really enjoyed that serie by the way

Being a huge fan of that series, I would also like to through in Banner I and Banner II, which are the sequels. |

NARUTO!!!! Naruto has lots of character development, characterisation and characters with character in it. Another one is Fullmetal Alchemist spoiler[Envy has the biggest character development in any anime I've ever seen]. I guess Azumanga Daioh has lots too, but the other two are on a more serious level I guess you'd say, but also the other two I mentioned you also have to be involved more so into the plot than the characters unlike Azumanga.

Also, Rozen Maiden, next to the fighting dolls, has a lot of personal growth for the main character.

I think Gungrave has great character development, even of those who are not the main characters. Of course Cowboy Bebop also does.

I also agree that Azumanga Daioh has great character development. The majority of the charcters have unique and distinct personalities that make each person stand out. The main reason the series is so good is because of the excellent characters. My favorite character is Osaka, but I still found all the other characters likeable and unforgettable in their own way because of the strong character development.
Another anime that I think has great and memorable characters is Cardcaptor Sakura, although I have a feeling that it's not the type of genre you're into. A near-classic because of the characters in my opinion, though. |

I'd agree with the suggestions of .hack//SIGN and Naruto above. While .hack//SIGN has realistic, well fleshed-out characters, Naruto's characters are extremely endearing and very easy to become attached to. Both are anime I love beyond belief.
