The fansubbing scene is based on ego. Since AJ is by far the fastest at releasing new running series and by far draws the most hits to their page, they naturally attract all the hate.

Actually, the reason I hate them is due to their speed. In trying to put out an episode within a day of it's airing, they really don't take the time necessary to make good quality tranlations. Hence the infamous GITS "mass naked child event" when another few minutes of translating and reasoning within the context would have gotten them child molestation. I'll admit, they are fast, but with that speed you sacrifice quality. I know there are people out there who absolutly love AJ and their work, and good for them to have made their own opinions, I just know that for myself, it's a quality thing not an ego thing.

The fact of the matter is why people are bringing this up again? Give it a break...

Its definitely a matter of quality.
AJ seems to have some of the worst fansubbing I've ever come across. Plus their attitude towards bootlegging even licensed material (from the "unethical fansubbers" thread). |
