I guess this is for display purposes only. To actually play chess, you need another 16 pieces (for the other side), and an 8 by 8 board. Just looking at the 7 by 7 board makes me dizzy.

It's kind of a shame that you can't play real chess on this board. It kind of takes away some of the value of owning the board. It would be cool to go "Hah! I'm taking your Saber with my Rider!" |
