the use of golden butterflies and butterflies in general along with the supernatural aspect, make me draw compensations to umineko with any other title is going to have a hard time living up to the umineko novels. if it's bad though it can't be worse then the anime.

Cool trailer and music. The animation character designs by Saito in the actual second half footage in the trailer look quite promising (love the coloring too), loved his original work for Sword of the Stranger (awesome movie).
All the designs look quite good, my favorite is probably Hakaze's cool design with the reddish hair and eyes, I like the freeze on the striking tough look there. Aika's design looks very nice too and curious about the presumably badass (?) black-haired girl with the gun in the black outfit. Mahiro on the site has a pretty cool design too toting the gun even with the pink on those boots. Man Masahiro Ando plus BONES animation and Michiru Oshima doing a big-sounding soundtrack again (and Okada's been on a lot of cool series I've liked) has me quite excited. Don't give sh*t if it's yaoi or not(good story = good story, regardless of who bones whom) but this looks(and sounds) great.
It has a really dark edge to it visually and doesn't seem likely to go the route of including bad comedy for bad comedy's sake(I'm looking at you, Sankarea...). And just look at the talent! The more previews I watch the more likely it seems for this fall season to be "da bomb"... |
