I have been hearing rumors about a new Yu-Gi-Oh! series, and I was wondering where I can find more information about it, if any information about it currently exists.

My questions are these.

1. Is this new series being written by Kazuki Takahashi? Because if not, then I do not feel that it will be worth watching.

2. When does this show take place; before, after, or during Yu-Gi-Oh!; Duel Monsters?

3. When does this series premiere, so that I may check it out when it begins?

If anyone can answer these questions, I would much appreciate the assistance. Thank you.

The only new series of Yu-Gi-Oh I can think of is Yu-Gi-Oh GX which has already aired. The series takes place after all of the events of the original Yu-Gi-Oh and is currently airing on Cartoon Network's Miguzi block. Even though Yu-Gi-Oh was already marketed to a young audience, this show is definately made for an even younger generation. This link should give you some more info.

anime#4481

If this isn't what you were thinking of, then sorry for the misinformation but this is the latest in the Yu-Gi-Oh series.

Capsul Monster's? SO the folks at Yu-Gi-Oh have finally come out of the closet and said yes we do want to be the next Pokémon, we will be the next Pokémon, we will create the next Pokémon. We will destroy the old Pokémon and slaughter all 200+ Pokémon and then resurrect thier likeness on little trading cards.

No but seriously Capsul Monsters does that not sound like the most obvious bite off of Pokémon you have ever hear in your life?

Actually, it is a Yu-Gi-Oh idea that was originally featured in the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga. I'm not sure which one, but I know I saw Seto's little brother battle Yugi in a game of Capsule Monsters.

Yugioh is NOT a rip-off of Pokemon. Yugioh is inspired by the TCG, Magic: The Gathering. Furthermore, Yugioh:Capsule Monsters is a 4Kids-only production that debuted in Ireland but is scheduled to be released on DVD in the U.S. this May: http://animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=8314 The version of "Capsule Monsters" that's presented in this AMERICAN-MADE Yugioh series has nothing to do with the version of Capsule Monsters that appeared in only ONE CHAPTER of the Yugioh manga. Please do your research before you start bashing something next time because you "ZOMG! monsters fighting each other = automatic pokemon rip-off! it suXX0rz! i'm kewler than you because i hate yugioh and pokemon!" people are starting to become annoying. What exactly do you have against Pokemon anyway? "ZOMG! pokemon sells toiz! it's ebil!" is a pathetic excuse to hate something.

I doubt Kazuki Takahashi will be doing anything new with YGO; he didn't really tke part in GX, so if YGO fails to drift out of sight, he won't have much to do with it. The YGO GX series has already aired on Cartoon Network. It comes on during Miguzi I think.

Duke, where in the heck did you get the idea that I hated either anime? Rolling Eyes I pretty much grew up on Pokemon and nowhere in my post did I state that I hated it or Yu-Gi-Oh for that matter. However I won't retract my statement that Capsul Monsters sounds(key word here) like a rip from Pokemon. And no I did not look at the link that you graciously provided Laughing because it was unnecessary and is nothing more but some "im better than you" BS. I based my assumption on nothing more than a hunch off of titles. If you feel offended because I dare compare your star-studded Yu-Gi-Oh to Pokemon you may want to either get a life or post in the [urlhttp://animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21899]How is Anime Important [/url]forum because it seems as if you are ready to suit up for it:P .

Some people are so sensitve these days... Embarassed

To adress other matters i feel that GX is a cheap fix for Yu-Gi-Oh fans. I have seen the show and although it does pass the time I don't fiend for the next episode. The sheer fact that they decided to name it GX (whether it was changed from a Japanese translation or not is irrelevant) is proof enough. It is a painful example of companys going "Man how do we sell this this. I know lets throw in a bunch of XXX's to make it look extreme and cool." (anyone recall the PSX) which in my opnion demeans the show in itself. Although the show makes up for it in itself they could have at least had a better tagline/subtitle so as not to turn...um...smart people off of the show. However with this series they have already killed the show and franchise alone, so another sequel would just be a waste of money.

Hm I didn't know that Capsule Monsters was a real show.Ah it's made by 4Kids completely.

Looks interesting but isn't Yami gone?So how is he there unless Yugi aged and the rest of the gang didn't.I'd like to see how 4Kids gonna fix this one.

GX would obviously be aimed at a younger audience. Aside from that, I actually like it.
I think YuGiOh has a beeter storyline than Pokemon, and cooler looking monsters. The Pokemon story is always the same, find a new pokemon, have team rocket come to get it, and whip they asses.

I agree with Yu-Gi-Oh actually having a plot. I just hate that EVERYTHING is settled with a card duel. "You kidnapped my friend and plan on raping her, if I win the card duel, you leave her alone"... okay. I stopped watching Yu-Gi-Oh after they defeated the guy with the silver hair, before "battle city". I love animation and unique character designs, so this series had that. I saw the first episode of GX, and didn't bother watching two. Obviously meant for a much younger audience.

Your damn statement was annoying. Maybe you should just state what pertain to the topic and shut the hell up. And it's not even like Camelot said anything near whatever the hell you wrote. People are always going to hate on shows so deal with it. Writing messed up internet jargon is just stupid and immature. And Capsule Monsters, does sound a lot like Pocket Monsters.

I can support that also. Yugioh had a very interesting storyline once they got the card game going, and I actually liked it. Pokemon is just a pepeat of the same old, same old. But yes, everything is decided with a duel. "If I win, you buy me lunch. If I win, you clean up my room. If I win, I get your room."

Sheesh Rolling Eyes

It DOES sound like Pokemon. How would they incorporate this into Yu-Gi-Oh though? Instead of cards are they going to use Pokeball-type things to summon monsters? I just think it's odd that they would call it Yu-Gi-Oh GX when Yugi isn't even in the show. I was in love with Yu-Gi-Oh at a time but I hated tha fact that everytime you lost a duel you would go to the dreaded...... Surprised Shadow Realm Surprised Surprised Surprised
