First off,please excuse this FMA topic.I would've posted my questions on the current FMA topic but the movie is being discussed in that one and I have not yet seen it.(probably wait for the dub) I have however seen the last 3 episodes of the series that have been sitting in my DVR for that last couple of weeks or so.So I have 2 questions.

Is there continuity between the last episode and the movie? Or is the movie just a side story?

Was everything that happened at the end of the series close to the original manga? (*ahem* if there's an original manga that is...) <<;

*just so everybody doesn't have to keep using spoiler tags

***FMA SPOILERS AHEAD***

From what I've heard;

The series was first concluded, and later a movie was announced. But there definatly is a connection between the end of the series and the movie. The series does contain a pretty good ending, but the movie ties up some of the lose ends... for example what happened to spoiler[Envy].

As for the manga and anime ending being related, probably not since the manga isn't over yet. In fact, no one has any idea when it will end. The anime begins takes it's seperate path after the first couple volumes of the manga. The changes are really noticable like spoiler[Greed's death which in the manga does not occur from Edward].

Again this is what I've been told and read throughout this forum. I hope I didn't give any false information so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

1. The movie is a direct sequel to the TV series. It picks up a couple years or so after the last episode, and if you haven't finished the TV series yet, I would highly avoid even reading plot summaries of the movie. Just the basicmost descrption of what happens in it is a fairly huge spoiler.

2. The anime and manga diverge heavily at approximately the midpoint of the TV series. As I understand it, the manga sticks more to the "shounen adventure" roots of the story, while the anime goes along more of a dramatic and philosophical route.

The father is unknown. spoiler[He was basically one of any given number of State soldiers who were in Lior at the time. Bluntly put, she was raped by the invading troops, hence the reason she's in such a state of catatonic shock when Ed sees her next.]

Wow,that's sort of disappointing to hear considering that FMA built itself a very interesting and intricate mythology,and it only got better as the series progressed.Especially all the revelations concerning The Gate and Alchemy itself.Even though now the original material doesn't seem as interesting,knowing that the manga is still going gives all the fans hope that there might be more anime in the future.(i heard some OAVs were planned right?)

Ah damn.See I didn't forget that the soldiers raped the women when they took over Lior,but I just figured the baby might've been Scar's kid.(well I guess it could be if there's some huge plot twist in the future)

But yeah,pretty damn harsh.

must be all the hentai I've seen but as soon as I saw that scene I immediately jumped to the conclusion that she was spoiler[raped even before I saw her with the baby]

The fact that you say that is proof you have never even read the manga. The anime is really nothing more than a expensive fan fic with a great deal of plot hole and mistakes. Which are even more numerous when the anime started to go own its own path.

Can you elaborate more on this? I actually started watching the series and really was enjoying it up until about midway into the series and lost interest, but still completed the series and overall it was a disapointment. Interesting to find out now that this is maybe because the original story was altered.

Where exactly did the story diverge? And what are specically the differences?

If you read the document you will see a great deal of the mistakes, plot holes and contradictions BONES makes. Be warned it is pretty long but is shows just how poorly the anime was planned. As for the differences between the manga and anime later, not up to it right now.

No I haven't read the manga,but I did enjoy the anime.Which is why I say it's sad to hear that the anime and the manga are very different.Sure,there's always the possibility of more anime since the manga is still going.But if there is more anime,will the manga alter the story I enjoyed in the anime? Or is this more or less the end of the line for the FMA anime since it's so different from the manga? (the end of this FMA universe anyway...)

And can you shed some light on those plot holes please?

lol I feel as if FMA is going to be teared down for me. XD

(*Edit* Well it looks like you posted before I did.And yeesh,PDF format? Anyone mind telling me what kind of program opens up PDF files? <<; )

You never seem to be. Despite the fact I myself have told you mutliple times to stop spamming and listing and explain yourself.

Now you can stop trolling and cough it up, or I can just start deleting future posts of yours on the subject of Fullmetal Alchemist, because a good 4/5 of them end up equal to trolling ("lol fma animu are suck"), anyway.

Will take a look at that PDF, a lot there, but noticed some interesting points already, thanks crow-kun.

You can use the 'official' Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader for a more light-weight version.

spoiler[Yes there is. Envy is on the other side (Germany/Europe) now and is supposedly (from what I've read) with the Nazis (in the last ep. there were references to the Aryan race). Ed and Hohenheim are working on a rocket in Romania. ]

PS: If you don't use spoilers, the administrator will delete your message! Shocked
