After hearing alot of hype about this, between American Shonen Jump and people talking about how it's gonna get animated soon, I decided to bite the bullet and preorder volume 1 of Reborn that's gonna be released by viz in october. Thoughts on this series? Alot of people said it gets better later on, but the whole thing is worth reading... some people on other forums were talking about the attack name change to "deathpetration bullet" or something. I don't really care myself since I never read any scans, as long as they aren't ridiculously cheesy.

I've said this several times on this forum before, of the newer manga in Weekly Jump, this is the best. I think it has the most unique premise and the best artwork.

Looks awesome. Will Shonen Jump Advanced keep coming out with new manga like that all the time like D.Gray-Man and stuff like that?

If they continue to be successful it's a safe yes.

I picked up an issue of Weekly Jump today and, despite my inability to read Japanese, I thought it looked pretty cool. The action was impressive and the art was really high quality. I wasn't expecting such a sophisticated style of artwork (sort of like Bleach, as a comparison) after seeing the little baby mob character. I will definitely check it out when it comes here.

Reborn looks stupid. A Mafia toddler? Won't last long.

Well, it's been going strong so far. Upto it's 11th volume and frequently featured as the main or center color pages in weekly jump, and it's always pretty high up there in weekly jump.
The concept seems pretty silly at first, but it works, trust me. And despite the title and him being on the first volume cover, Reborn, the baby, isn't really the main character. More like a Yoda to Tsuna, the actual main character. And there's surprisngly good action for a comedy.
