I would think considering past practices, that production for Magi never stopped when season 1 ended.

1st Season didn't exactly get straight adaption of the show. So i think this will be continuation of the adaption, not straight port from the Manga.

Either way, i hope they can keep it closer to Manga as possible. Alot times the anime out paces the Manga usually.
