This is unbelieveable! I mean Shonen Jump is supposed to be the most popular manga in Japan! On top of that, many of its titles aren't even finished stateside yet! How are people going to continue getting stuff like Naruto and Bleach?

Does this mean anything to American Shonen Jump?

MONTHLY Shounen Jump people. They're numerous types of Shonen Jump, and the Jump that publishes "Naruto", "Bleach", and "One Piece" will still continue. I don't know what series' are in monthly shounen jump, I just know the company's BIG titles will still continue.

Naruto and Bleach are in Weekly Jump, not Monthly Jump.

The only title I'm concerned about is Claymore. I hope it'll be able to continue.

The only well-known manga that are currently published in Monthly Shonen Jump are Claymore & Beet the Vandel Buster. I assume both of these will continue somehow.

My first reaction to the headline was "holy f***!", but then I realized it's only for Japan's Monthly Jump, and not the US Shonen Jump...Still, this is significant news. The funny thing is, their "low sales" are probably high sales for our US SJ. Also, I wonder what might replace the magazine...It seems kind of pointless to simply replace a failing magazine with another one, unless the succeeding one is something radically different...

Crazy news, though...

So unless you like Claymore or Beet the Vandal buster, nobody should care. Maybe they will put the titles in Weekly Shonen Jump, Young Jump, VJump, Mega Jump, Ultra Jump, Super Awesome Happy Happy Jump, etc.

I don't think you'll have to worry. I get the feeling that Shueisha will make the series one of the focal points of this "new magazine" they are working on.

Absolutely nothing. A good section of American Shonen Jump has series in them that are already over. If Weekly Shonen Jump were to stop running, then we would have a problem. But with the popularity of current series right now, there's nothing to worry about.

Here too. But like Jariten said, more than likely they'll find a way to keep it going.

You can't really gauge the popularity of Shonen Jump by looking at monthly Jump. They're two very different publications. Monthly is even aimed at a slightly older age group. The only real similarities are that they'r e both shonen. Weekely Jump is still going strong in Japan. There are more Jump-based anime on the air right now than ever before in the anthology's history. And almost all of them (I think the only exception is Death Note) are based on series that are still running. That means a *lot* of Jump series are proving very popular. It'll be around for quite a long time.
