So it's actually the movies turn into a TV series with new scenes added.

I was expecting a reboot.

Well, Girge's big fight was definitely the one thing that needed to get animated.

I love the movie series, but the story didn't completely conclude, so I hope this lives up to it.
I also hope it has high production value as the movie series.
This is so exciting.

Aside from the near ending changes (manga deviations in 6th movie) I quite liked it so it's not that bad. Still, reboot would be better.

I was actually expecting to see a reboot from seeing the article title, but no... the 12 episode series is just the movie series with some new scenes. Well, since everyone that has read the manga said that Girge's fight is important, I guess that's one thing to look forward to.

I hope this earns enough success to spawn a sequel/continuation.

That's a very good news!
In fact I've been thinking for a while that they should do this with the Berserk movies: turn them into an anime series with added scenes.

I loved the film series, although it's been long enough since I've seen it that I don't remember the significance of the fight mentioned. An additional OVA sounds cool, but I really hope this leads to some sort of continuation.

... that's already been done. The TV series what was release back in early 2000's. So, no such luck there.

1997 actually, and with a recent BluRay.

Instead of spinoff, how about a strait up sequel instead. The movies just kind of stopped just when things were getting really interesting.

Instead of wasting money on this, they could have just done a reboot to properly follow the manga. Oh well, I will still watch.
