Since the original show never streamed legally or was licensed in the U.S., I'm wondering if they will make the new series accessible enough for people who aren't familiar with the series.

Maybe we can get the old series to watch, or Detective Conan streaming as well? Daisuke had a poll asking what people wanted to see on the service way back, I remember DC was missing but Kindaichi was on there, I voted a couple times for it. Well, I'll take what I'll get with the new series.

Well, this show interests me, so I'm hoping I can jump in without knowing anything about what came before.
If Daisuke or someone streamed the original series, that would be great.
