I would like to see it as an over the top mecha by Gainax, (or trigger).

The Gainax you are thinking of has had most of its talent leave in the past few years for other studios.

As long as it's not Trigger or Sunrise I'll be happy.

Either MADHOUSE, TRIGGER, or SATELIGHT.

If it's with MADHOUSE then I'm not watching all the stuff they did for Marvel looks cheap and generic.

To Trigger.

Therefore, get Trigger.

Production quality is more related to production budget and staff than the studio involved.

We're going for a long arc, so the idea is to show a group of characters—we have pilots, functional jaegers, but we have all these younger characters.

Expect teenager/high schooler pilots.

I'm thinking possibly BONES for the animation or Madhouse. Since they both have some pretty great animation. Especially since BONES has done quite a few mecha series. Good looking ones at that too!

But I like the idea of this. More of a side story that will factor into the plot of the second movie in someway...I'm definitely up for that!

As long as no one from BONES is allowed anywhere near the script, sure. Same with Sunrise.

If they intend to stick with CG for Jeager's I'd say Satelight is probably the obvious choice. Otherwise the actual team and budget has -far- more impact on quality than Studio. (though Sunrise is a personal favorite)

They're gonna go with someone big and reputable so it'll be Production I.G or MADHOUSE

People seem to be over-analyzing the studio as if it matters. It wont matter unless the studio gives a crap about the source material. Pierrot worked on Korra, Madhouse worked on Marvel stuff, Production I.G worked on Mass Effect. All of which weren't very good. Contract work is always inferior because it's just a relationship born from money, not one of passion.
