How cool! The very fun first season had a lot of stuff that was left to be explained so this is very welcome. But is Daichi the director again?

Well, this wasn't all too surprising lol... since the first season ended in a semi-cliffhanger. But nevertheless, so happy to see another season!! and I just finished watching the 1st season on DVD too! lol.. I hope funi picks this up too and includes the OVA as well!

This is definitely surprising news to me, since Kamisama Hajimemashita's anime wasn't exactly a huge seller; it only sold an average of about 2,800 discs per volume, not horrible but not exactly promising for a sequel. Guess the show gave a good boost to the original manga's sales or something.
It's definitely a pleasant surprise, though. I'm all up for more.

Pleasantly surprised by this news. I enjoyed the first season, and I was contemplating getting into the manga recently.
Happy that the things that weren't tied up by the end of the 1st season may be explored now. We'll also be able to find out more about the characters that were introduced in the OVA.

Holy crap, seriously? I'm (very pleasantly) surprised!
The first anime deviated a bit from the manga, but not enough that it couldn't continue on with the manga.
I haven't seen the OVA, so I don't know what new characters were introduced, but I wonder if we're going to get as far as the Nanami / Yukiji / Akura-Ou storyline (manga spoiler) where Nanami travels to the past to save Tomoe. A lot happens between then and when the first anime leaves off, so it seems unlikely unless if they cut away some arcs in between, but I think that would be a great way to end the 2nd season.
And for the next big question, will Funimation pick it up? Was the first season enough of a seller for them to consider the 2nd? I bought the premium edition to show my support for those types of series being licensed (and also just because I really liked the series) - I'm hoping enough people did for Funimation to consider it.
*Fingers crossed*
